Dr. Haseeb advocates for healthcare policy at ACP Leadership Day

This year, Dr. Haseeb PGY-2 again represented IM Riverside and Riverside Community Hospital at the annual ACP Leadership Day in Washington, DC. Leadership Day is a two day conference during which physicians, residents, and medical students from across the country gather to discuss how we as physicians can best represent ourselves and our patients in government and positively influence healthcare policy. One day is spent hearing from people in the field and the second, meeting with representatives on Capitol Hill to discuss current bills awaiting approval to pass through congress and into law. It is a reminder of how important it is to recognize that patient care involves caring for our community as a whole, not just individual patients.

Another successful and productive year advocating for physicians, residents, medical students, and most importantly patients. Thank you ACP for reinvigorating my passion for policy and advocacy and reminding me why I want to pursue a career in healthcare policy.
