Welcoming the Internal Medicine Class of 2029!

What an great start to the academic year! We are thrilled to officially welcome our newest internal medicine interns to Riverside Community Hospital.

Orientation kicked off with an address from our Program Director, Dr. Hwang, who shared his journey from RCH resident to Chief, APD, and now Program Director. His core advice set the tone for the journey ahead: clinical growth and judgment are slow, compounding processes that cannot be rushed, so trust the process, stay present, and lean on the supportive community of peers, nurses, pharmacists, and attendings.

Our faculty and administrative team quickly set the class up for success, covering essential clinical handoffs, outpatient workflows, IT systems, and program expectations. The cohort also took time for reflection by writing their traditional “Letter to PGY-3 Me” before heading out to celebrate over dinner at El Torito.

It is an honor to support this talented group as they take their first steps as physicians, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish over the next three years. Welcome to the RCH family!
